1. Relationship with Apple (unofficial, not endorsed)

1.1 The App and this site are independently developed and operated by an individual developer signing as GACING, with no affiliation, sponsorship, approval, or endorsement from Apple Inc.

1.2 Apple, iOS, iPhone, SpeechAnalyzer, SpeechTranscriber, Translation, Dynamic Island, and Live Activity are trademarks or framework names of Apple Inc. They are mentioned here only to describe the system capabilities the App relies on and the environment it runs in.

1.3 The speech-recognition assets and translation language packs downloaded on first use are distributed by Apple; their availability, updates, and license terms are determined by Apple.

2. Technology dependencies

2.1 The App's core capabilities are built entirely on Apple system frameworks: speech recognition via SpeechAnalyzer / SpeechTranscriber (iOS 26), Chinese translation via the Translation framework, and Dynamic Island / Lock Screen captions via Live Activity. All of these run on-device.

2.2 As a result, the quality, speed, and availability of recognition and translation depend on Apple's component versions, language support coverage, and your device's performance — not on anything the Developer directly controls. Any change, restriction, or discontinuation of these frameworks or components by Apple may alter or reduce the App's functionality.

2.3 The App requires iOS 26 or later; system requirements may change as Apple's framework capabilities evolve.

3. Accuracy and use limits

3.1 Captions and translations are generated automatically on your device by Apple system frameworks; their accuracy is not guaranteed in any way and may be affected by accent, speaking rate, ambient noise, specialized vocabulary, and device conditions.

3.2 Captions are a study aid only: they must not be the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, or other important decisions; they are no substitute for listening, examinations, or hearing itself; and they are not an official record or authoritative text of any course.

3.3 Lecture recording is an optional feature. Before recording anyone's lecture, you must ensure you hold every permission required by the laws of your jurisdiction and your school's rules (some jurisdictions require the consent of everyone present). The App is only a tool; compliance responsibility for recording rests with you — see Section 5 of the Terms of Use.

4. Distribution channels

4.1 The App is distributed through two channels: (a) the Apple App Store; and (b) OTA test distribution from this site, with its entry at the keyu.gacing.com/beta test page (open that page in Safari on an iPhone; installation completes via the system install manifest).

4.2 The OTA test distribution (the /beta page) is intended for testers who want builds earlier. OTA builds are identical in features to the App Store build and equally free; OTA installation requires trusting the developer certificate in system settings. When updating in place, reinstall directly — do not delete the old version first, or the sessions and recordings stored on the device will be lost with it.

4.3 Any "Keyu" installation package offered by third-party websites or channels other than the two above is unauthorized; do not install it.

5. Infrastructure

5.1 This site (keyu.gacing.com) is operated and maintained by the Developer personally. It carries the product introduction, install distribution files, the support page, and legal documents. It has no account system and collects no personal information about visitors.

5.2 The diagnostic-log server (diag.gacing.com) is likewise operated by the Developer personally. Its sole purpose is to receive the diagnostic logs you upload by tapping the button inside the App (device model, iOS version, app version, run log; no caption text, no recordings), which are automatically deleted after 90 days. No other app data ever reaches the Developer's servers.

5.3 The physical hosting location of the servers is determined by the hosting provider and may change with operational needs; the data boundaries described above do not change with the hosting location.

6. Individual, non-profit developer

6.1 The Developer is a non-profit individual who builds and distributes the App in a personal capacity, signing as GACING. The App is free of charge, with no in-app purchases and no advertising; this site conducts no revenue-generating activity.

6.2 Individual development means limited resources: feature updates, fixes, and email replies proceed according to the Developer's available time, with no promised response time or service continuity; the Developer may update, suspend, or terminate distribution (see Section 12 of the Terms of Use).

7. Feedback and removal requests

7.1 Issue reports, feature suggestions, early-deletion requests for diagnostic logs, and any objections or removal requests from rights holders concerning this site's content are all handled by email: keyu@gacing.com. This is the only contact channel for this site.

7.2 For removal requests, please identify the specific page or content involved, your identity, and the basis of the request. The Developer will review facially valid requests and act on them within reason, but promises no response time; this Section creates no obligation beyond those imposed by mandatory applicable law.
